Summer 2007
Blue Cat Brew Pub Beer Dinner - So August is in full swing and it is hot, but why not kick back and enjoy some Thursday night with a cold beer and some locally grown cuisine. Well it just so happens Crandall Farms is participating with 'Buy Fresh, Buy Local', in a Blue Cat Brew Pub Beer Dinner. Crandall Farms honey will be a main ingredient in the Honey Spice Cake for the night and hopefully you'll stop by and try some. I believe reservations are required, so click on www.bluecatbrewpub.com and click on August Beer Dinner to get more information. The event is Thursday, August 16th, 2007 and begins at 6:45pm.
VanderVeer Park Fall Festival - On Saturday, September the 15th, from 1pm to 4pm, we will be participating along with Master Gardeners in this event. It promotes education concerning pollinators. Bees and butterflies are the theme. We will be sharing the tent with a Master Gardener display about the emerald ash. Hopefully you will stop by and see our observation hive along with all the other displays. And this is an event for the kids to learn, so don't forget to bring them along as well =)
hopefully i'll have photographs soon of both these events =)

April 2007 Events
Java in the Jungle - April 15th
Java in the Jungle was great and we got a lot of publicity for it. We were situated in the sun room, which is where the tropical plants grow, so that was awesome. Humid but awesome. I was even asked to give a presentation on honey.

Here I am talking about the health benefits of honey. I've put the whole presentation in the newly remodeled History section of the page....I think I'll rename the section too, reflecting more on benefits than just history.

We also had an observation hive with us. It always proves interesting conversation when people are confronted with live bees.
